Government Consultation now closed with decision by the end of March 2026. All West Sussex councils will continue to operate and deliver services until the handover to new authority(ies) in 2028. Until then residents & businesses should continue to contact their local councils as usual.
The government’s formal consultation on local government reorganisation for Sussex will close on Sunday 11 January 2026 at 23.59.
The West Sussex County Council plans for the gritting of roads and snow clearance this winter, plus additional provision by the Parish Council. Also important advice on how much salt/grit to use when you hand grit your pavements/drives using salt from the local bins.

To complete a major upgrade on the Portsmouth Direct Line there will be a railway closure between Guildford and Havant, from Saturday 25 October to Sunday 2 November 2025. Buses will be replace SW trains between Guildford and Havant. See full article for more info.
